My father recorded me singing when I was sixteen months old, and I’ve been making things ever since: piano, a major-label record deal, then years in corporate jobs that never quite fit.

So I gave myself ninety days to leave. Thirty to finish an album. Thirty to write a book. Thirty to sell both out of my car. By day ninety I had earned more than my annual salary, and I never looked back.
